Multi-Processor Design for Automated Driving Platform
The research is focused on the development of a multi-processor based system used within a platform for automated driving. The successful candidate (m/f) will be involved as a research associate in the national research project targeting the development of processing modules as well as smart reconfigurable sensor data processing units for the automotive applications. The position is coupled with responsibility to investigate innovative solutions in the field of fault tolerant system design and perform the implementations of hardware and software IPs for demonstrating the functionality of the solutions. Additionally, the system integration and validation in an automated driving platform will be performed. On the research side the main challenges will be dynamic allocation of resources (power, performance, reliability) in order to optimally address the application needs.
A PhD degree can be pursued and will be encouraged.
The successful candidate (m/f) has a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science with the specialization on digital electronics or computer engineering. It is important that the candidate has the strong background on digital electronic, processor architecture, and embedded design, as well as solid baseline knowledge of digital signal processing and fault tolerant computing. Skills in at least one HDL and one programming language are essential: VHDL (or Verilog) and C/C++. The knowledge of SystemC, SystemVerilog, or embedded programming language is appreciated, but not mandatory. Hands-on experience in embedded programming, electronic system level (ESL) flow, and FPGA design flow and tools is appreciated. Industrial experience would be an advantage.
The candidate (m/f) is expected to be highly motivated with very good experimental and theoretical skills. Very good oral and written skills in English are mandatory.
