Work­ing field:

The inter­dis­cip­lin­ary junior research group FANS deals with the devel­op­ment and eval­u­ation of a ped­es­trian assist­ance sys­tem for older road users. Your tasks include the devel­op­ment of a multi-sensor net­work for detec­tion of the street envir­on­ment (Multi-Sensor Fusion and Integ­ra­tion), the applic­a­tion of Com­puter Vis­ion, the devel­op­ment of adequate algorithms with Machine Learn­ing meth­ods, fur­ther devel­op­ment end eval­u­ation of exist­ing meth­ods for hybrid pro­to­typ­ing in vir­tual 3d envir­on­ments, oppor­tun­ity to pur­sue a PhD, admin­is­trat­ive pro­ject related tasks.

Require­ments:

Suc­cess­ful can­did­ates must have com­pleted a uni­versity degree (Dip­lom, Mas­ter or equi­val­ent) in com­puter sci­ence or sim­ilar fields of study. Interest in and deepened foun­ded know­ledge in Com­puter Vis­ion, Machine Learn­ing (exper­i­ence with Data Min­ing and KDD are advant­age­ous), pro­gram­ming lan­guages (e.g. C++, C#, Pro­log, etc.), interest in ques­tions related to Human-Machin Inter­ac­tion, will­ing­ness to famil­i­ar­ize with new sub­jects, com­mit­ment and autonomy, Interest in com­plex prob­lems, will­ing­ness to work inter­dis­cip­lin­ary, Ger­man skills, Eng­lish skills. Know­ledge of Mat­lab, R or openCV are advant­age­ous.
