The interdisciplinary junior research group FANS deals with the development and evaluation of a pedestrian assistance system for older road users. Your tasks include the development of a multi-sensor network for detection of the street environment (Multi-Sensor Fusion and Integration), the application of Computer Vision, the development of adequate algorithms with Machine Learning methods, further development end evaluation of existing methods for hybrid prototyping in virtual 3d environments, opportunity to pursue a PhD, administrative project related tasks.

Successful candidates must have completed a university degree (Diplom, Master or equivalent) in computer science or similar fields of study. Interest in and deepened founded knowledge in Computer Vision, Machine Learning (experience with Data Mining and KDD are advantageous), programming languages (e.g. C++, C#, Prolog, etc.), interest in questions related to Human-Machin Interaction, willingness to familiarize with new subjects, commitment and autonomy, Interest in complex problems, willingness to work interdisciplinary, German skills, English skills. Knowledge of Matlab, R or openCV are advantageous.
