Working Student – Data Engineer (m/f)
As a Data Engineer, you will be a member of an interdisciplinary research team of Data Scientists responsible for modeling in many business areas, including but not limited to Customer: segmentation, care, acquisition, retention, engagement, propensity, and value; Product: simulation, testing, and evaluation; Content: acquisition, pricing, valuation, and recommendation.
You have a passion for Big Data and its supporting technologies and platform components. You will be an enabler for cutting edge modeling efforts, passionate about accessing, moving, and processing terabytes of data in a performant, scalable, fault-tolerant way, and will display your strong problem-solving ability under different settings (e.g. development, test, production, …)

Pull large data sets from Oracle and Redshift database for ad-hoc analysis using SQL
Process huge data sets using Spark, MapReduce, and Amazon Web Services
Recognize patterns in the data and dig deep into anomalies
You are proficient in at least one of Java, Scala or Python
You are proficient in Linux and shell scripting
You are fluent in English, both written and spoken skills
You have a passion for big data and are curious to always dig deep into data to uncover patterns
Self-driven and motivated to learn and explore
You must be enrolled in a first degree study course (1st Bachelor or 1st Master) at a German university to fulfill the working student criteria.
You are proficient in SQL / ETL, with hands-on experience in a business environment
You are enrolled in computer science / engineering / mathematics / statistics or similar university programs and have at least one year of your studies left
