for the field of "Ani­mal eco­logy in eco­lo­gic­ally ori­ented plan­ning".

Work­ing field:

We expect can­did­ates to rep­res­ent the field of “ani­mal eco­logy with par­tic­u­lar empha­sis on its rel­ev­ance and rela­tion­ship to land­scape plan­ning” in rese­arch and teach­ing and have a strong motiv­a­tion to con­trib­ute to the teach­ing in the Bach­elor and Mas­ter cour­ses “Öko­lo­gie und Umwelt­pla­nung” and in the Mas­ter course “Stadt­öko­lo­gie” (“Urban Eco­sys­tem Sci­ence”). At the same time, the suc­cess­ful can­did­ate will lead the Sec­tion of “Hab­itat ana­lysis and spa­tial mod­el­ling of spe­cies dis­tri­bu­tion/GIS-Lab” and the „Them­atic Rese­arch Group Con­cepts and Com­pu­ta­tion in Eco­logy and Evol­u­tion (C2E2)" at the Leib­niz Insti­tute for Zoo and Wild­life Rese­arch (IZW), Ber­lin. A major focus of rese­arch is on the mod­el­ling of spa­tial biod­iver­sity pat­terns and pro­ces­ses at the land­scape scale.


Suc­cess­ful app­lic­ants must ful­fil the require­ments for appoint­ment at the pro­fes­sor level in com­pli­ance with § 100 Ber­lHG (Ber­lin Hig­her Edu­ca­tion Act), includ­ing a com­ple­ted aca­demic edu­ca­tion, qual­i­fied achieve­ments in rese­arch (PhD), post­doc­toral lec­ture qual­i­fic­a­tion (Habil­it­a­tion) or equi­val­ent qual­i­fic­a­tion and ped­ago­gical didac­tic qual­i­fic­a­tions, to be pro­ven by teach­ing exper­i­ence (for more inform­a­tion see TUB Web­site, quick access no. 144242). Can­did­ates must have an excel­lent record in rese­arch in at least one of the fol­low­ing fields of rese­arch: Hab­itat mod­el­ling, land­scape eco­logy, biod­iver­sity con­ser­va­tion. We expect excel­lent com­pet­ence and exper­i­ence in the devel­op­ment of GIS-based meth­ods.
