Research Assist­ant - 0.75 work­ing time - salary grade E13 TV-L Ber­liner Hoch­schu­len

This research pos­i­tion is situ­ated within the pro­ject A12 "Ropelength for Peri­odic Links", which is part of the Col­lab­or­at­ive Research Cen­ter SFB/TRR 109 "Dis­cret­iz­a­tion in Geo­metry and Dynam­ics", fun­ded by the DFG (Ger­man Research Found­a­tion).

Work­ing field:

Research in dif­fer­en­tial geo­metry, in par­tic­u­lar on energy min­im­iz­ing embed­dings of knot­ted, linked and woven, curves.

Require­ments:

Suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) in n Math­em­at­ics or Applied Math­em­at­ics. Thor­ough expert­ise in geo­metry is a pre­requis­ite. We expect you to work inde­pend­ently on a high aca­demic level. A good com­mand of the Eng­lish lan­guage is neces­sary. An interest in applic­a­tions of dif­fer­en­tial geo­metry would be prefer­able. Exper­i­ence in pro­gram­ming.
