Work­ing field:

Within the scope of the innov­a­tion cam­paign 2010-2016 of the state of Ber­lin, a pos­i­tion as a research assist­ant at the Tech­nis­che Uni­versität Ber­lin at the Depart­ment of Build­ing Mater­i­als and Con­struc­tion Chem­istry is to be filled. The tasks of the research includes sup­port and inde­pend­ent imple­ment­a­tion of research pro­jects in the depart­ment, sup­port and fur­ther sci­entific devel­op­ment of ana­lysis facil­it­ies and research tools and the sup­port in the acquis­i­tion of third party funds. In addi­tion, the coordin­a­tion of national and inter­na­tional research pro­jects as well as cooper­a­tion with indus­trial part­ners are among the tasks. The research res­ults should be pub­lished inter­na­tion­ally and should be presen­ted at national and inter­na­tional con­fer­ences and work­shops and should be sum­mar­ized in report form. In addi­tion, the par­ti­cip­a­tion in lec­tures with an amount of 8 hours per week as well as the super­vi­sion of stu­dents in the con­text of final thesis is part of the Tasks.

Require­ments:

Suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) and PhD in mater­i­als sci­ence, min­er­alogy, chem­istry or related dis­cip­lines; min­imum three years of exper­i­ence in a reg­u­lar aca­demic or indus­trial pos­i­tion; in-depth know­ledge in the field of build­ing mater­i­als and build­ing chem­ical addit­ives is a pre­requis­ite; extens­ive exper­i­ence in the field of scan­ning elec­tron micro­scopy, X-ray dif­fracto­metry and light micro­scopy is man­dat­ory and solid know­ledge of fur­ther ana­lyt­ical meth­ods is advant­age­ous; intens­ive exper­i­ence in the field of hydra­tion of inor­ganic bind­ers is desir­able; good know­ledge of Ger­man and Eng­lish; high motiv­a­tion and abil­ity to work inde­pend­ently; applic­ants should state their exper­i­ences with ana­lyt­ical meth­ods, exper­i­ence in the research field of build­ing mater­i­als and con­struc­tion chem­istry and should include list of pub­lic­a­tions.
