Work­ing field:

Par­ti­cip­a­tion in the EU fun­ded Pro­ject Safe10T with the aim to ensure high safety per­form­ance for crit­ical infra­struc­ture across the road, rail and inland water­way modes through advanced min­ing and learn­ing from the data that is avail­able around these nodes. You will sup­port the pro­ject's work pack­age of the TU Ber­lin aimed at devel­op­ing safety visu­al­iz­a­tion maps that integ­rate data and data ana­lysis res­ults mean­ing­fully to sup­port real time safety decision mak­ing. Addi­tion­ally, you will be involved in the devel­op­ment of the machine learn­ing algorithms, an inform­a­tion man­age­ment frame­work, and the over­all integ­ra­tion of the dif­fer­ent aspects into a decision sup­port tool. Pos­sible can­did­ates are encour­aged and will be sup­por­ted in par­ti­cip­at­ing and com­plet­ing the PhD gradu­ation pro­gramme of the TU Ber­lin.

Require­ments:

  • suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) in a related engin­eer­ing dis­cip­line
  • know­ledge of trans­port­a­tion infra­struc­ture and asset man­age­ment
  • advanced PC and soft­ware devel­op­ment sskill, ideally in web based data visu­la­iz­a­tion and GIS
  • excel­lent Eng­lish lan­guage skills
  • you should have an entre­pren­eur­ial mind­set and be a strong, but self-motiv­ated team worker
  • junior research­ers with inter­na­tional back­ground wel­come
