Involvement in research and teaching. Research will focus on the activation of the protooncogen KRAS in pancreatic carcinoma cells. Regulatory elements in the 5’ UTR of its mRNA will be investigated, particularly a G-quadruplex located in this region. The mutated, cancer-relevant variant will be silenced by means of RNA interference. This aims at selective inhibition of cancer cells in a 3D model generated by Bioprinting. You will work in a dynamic, well-equipped department in a highly relevant research project in basic biomedical research. In addition, you will take part in teaching for bachelor and master students in biotechnology. You will also have to fulfill formal work for the department. The position offers the possibility for a habilitation.
Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology or related studies and successfully finished PhD
great interest in a scientific topic
ability to work independently
high motivation for teaching and research
knowledge in cell culture techniques and molecular biology are required
knowledge in 3D models and 3D bioprinting are advantageous
Furthermore, competence in support of young scientists and support of women and gender-sensitive concepts of teaching are advantageous. This is also true for the advice of PhD students.
