Research Assist­ant-PostDoc - salary grade E 13 TV-L Ber­liner Hoch­schu­len - 2nd qual­i­fic­a­tion period

Work­ing field:

Involve­ment in research and teach­ing. Research will focus on the activ­a­tion of the pro­toon­co­gen KRAS in pan­cre­atic car­cinoma cells. Reg­u­lat­ory ele­ments in the 5’ UTR of its mRNA will be invest­ig­ated, par­tic­u­larly a G-quad­ruplex loc­ated in this region. The mutated, can­cer-rel­ev­ant vari­ant will be silenced by means of RNA inter­fer­ence. This aims at select­ive inhib­i­tion of can­cer cells in a 3D model gen­er­ated by Bioprint­ing. You will work in a dynamic, well-equipped depart­ment in a highly rel­ev­ant research pro­ject in basic bio­med­ical research. In addi­tion, you will take part in teach­ing for bach­elor and mas­ter stu­dents in bio­tech­no­logy. You will also have to ful­fill formal work for the depart­ment. The pos­i­tion offers the pos­sib­il­ity for a habil­it­a­tion.

Require­ments:

  • Suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) in bio­logy, bio­chem­istry, bio­tech­no­logy or related stud­ies and suc­cess­fully fin­ished PhD
  • great interest in a sci­entific topic
  • abil­ity to work inde­pend­ently
  • high motiv­a­tion for teach­ing and research
  • know­ledge in cell cul­ture tech­niques and molecu­lar bio­logy are required
  • know­ledge in 3D mod­els and 3D bioprint­ing are advant­age­ous
Fur­ther­more, com­pet­ence in sup­port of young sci­ent­ists and sup­port of women and gender-sens­it­ive con­cepts of teach­ing are advant­age­ous. This is also true for the advice of PhD stu­dents.
