Research Assist­ant - salary grade E 13 TV-L Ber­liner Hoch­schu­len - 1st qual­i­fic­a­tion period (PhD)

The Fac­ulty IV on Elec­trical Engin­eer­ing and Com­puter Sci­ence devel­ops and imple­ments a new ment­or­ing pro­gram for first-year stu­dents, fun­ded by the „Ber­liner Qual­itäts- und Innov­a­tion­sof­fens­ive (BQIO)“. We are look­ing to hire a research assist­ant to run the setup and sup­port of the pro­gram’s intro­duc­tion phase. It is also pos­sible to pur­sue a PhD thesis along the way.

Work­ing field:

  • con­cep­tion, imple­ment­a­tion and exe­cu­tion of the BQIO-fun­ded ment­or­ing pro­gram with respect­ive offer­ings (events, con­sulta­tion, assist­ance, …)
  • devel­op­ment of lec­tures or courses for the ini­tial study phase
  • coordin­a­tion und instruc­tion of asso­ci­ated tutors
  • com­mu­nic­a­tion with all rel­ev­ant act­ors
  • PR address­ing the inside and out­side of the uni­versity; pre­par­a­tion of inform­a­tion leaf­lets
  • doc­u­ment­a­tion and eval­u­ation of the pro­gress of the pro­gram
  • acquis­i­tion of addi­tional fund­ing and spon­sors

Require­ments:

  • suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity edu­ca­tion (Dip­lom, Mas­ter or equi­val­ent)
  • know­ledge and exper­i­ence in either of the fol­low­ing areas: ment­or­ing; aca­demic or occu­pa­tional net­works; pro­mo­tion and devel­op­ment of young tal­ents
  • excel­lent com­mu­nic­a­tions skills in Ger­man and Eng­lish
  • pro­found know­ledge about aca­demic struc­tures and pro­cesses
  • stra­tegic and cre­at­ive think­ing, com­pet­ency for organ­iz­a­tion and plan­ning
  • savvy hand­ling of mod­ern IT-sys­tems (Office, Web, Social Media, ...)
Desir­able Qual­i­fic­a­tions:
  • exper­i­ences with stu­dent coun­selling and/or ser­vice learn­ing
  • affin­ity for STEM-top­ics
  • know­ledge and prac­tical exper­i­ences with pro­ject man­age­ment
  • abil­ity to work in a team, abil­ity to deal with con­flicts, ser­vice-ori­ented oper­a­tion
  • know­ledge and exper­i­ence with the con­cep­tion and imple­ment­a­tion of events in uni­versity edu­ca­tion and advanced and con­tinu­ous train­ing
