Work­ing field:

At the depart­ment of Food Bio­tech­no­logy and Pro­cess Engin­eer­ing, you are work­ing on the devel­op­ment of innov­at­ive pro­cesses for food pro­cessing and pre­ser­va­tion. An innov­at­ive pro­cess (gas hydrate tech­no­logy) for the con­cen­tra­tion of fruit juices is to be invest­ig­ated. The task includes pro­cess engin­eer­ing/tech­no­lo­gical imple­ment­a­tion of gas hydrate tech­no­logy and pro­cess optim­iz­a­tion includ­ing met­ro­lo­gical, ana­lyt­ical and fluid mech­anic-numer­ical invest­ig­a­tions. The research pro­ject com­prises vari­ous research areas such as food bio­tech­no­logy, multiscale product-/pro­cess ana­lysis and design as well as bio­ther­mo­fluid dynam­ics. The pre­par­a­tion of a PhD thesis or postdoc­toral lec­ture qual­i­fic­a­tion thesis is pos­sible.

Require­ments:

Suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent); degree above aver­age desired.
  • The focus of the first pos­i­tion is loc­ated in the fields of Com­pu­ta­tional Engin­eer­ing, Numer­ical Fluid Mech­an­ics, Phys­ical Engin­eer­ing Sci­ences or Applied Inform­at­ics.
  • The focus of the second pos­i­tion is in the field of Food Tech­no­logy, Chem­ical and Bioen­gin­eer­ing, Life Sci­ence Engin­eer­ing, Bio­tech­no­logy, Food Chem­istry, Pro­cess Engin­eer­ing or a related dis­cip­line.
Both employ­ees are expec­ted to show a high level of cooper­a­tion as well as the abil­ity to work inde­pend­ently and inter­dis­cip­lin­ary at the inter­face between food tech­no­logy, pro­cess engin­eer­ing, flow mech­an­ics and numer­ics.
