Work­ing field:

Wit­hin the frame­work of the pro­ject "Con­struc­tio­nal Eco­lo­gical Assess­ment of Con­struc­tion Pro­ducts with Con­tact to Soil and Ground­wa­ter", stud­ies on the inter­ac­tions bet­ween water­proof­ing mater­i­als and the eco­sys­tem of ground­wa­ter / soil have to be car­ried out. The main work is to invest­ig­ate ana­lyt­ical and eco­tox­ic­o­lo­gical con­struc­tion pro­ducts and to optim­ize and expand aqua­tic and ter­restrial test­ing sys­tems. The res­ults have to be eval­u­ated sci­en­tific­ally and pro­ces­sed in reports and sci­ent­i­fic pub­lic­a­tions. The pos­sib­il­ity of a doc­tor­ate is given and expressly desi­red. The work will be super­vised in col­lab­or­a­tion with Prof. Pflug­macher-Lima, Uni­ver­sity of Hel­sinki, Aqua­tic Eco­tox­ic­o­logy in an Urban Envir­on­ment.

Require­ments:

Suc­cess­fully com­ple­ted uni­ver­sity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) in bio­logy, bio­chem­istry, eco­tox­ic­o­logy, tech­nical envir­on­men­tal pro­tec­tion or rela­ted dis­cip­lines. In-depth know­ledge in the field of eco­tox­ic­o­logy is require­ment. Advant­age­ous are exper­i­ence with orga­nic ingredi­ents in con­struc­tion pro­ducts and eco­tox­ic­o­lo­gical as well as mater­ial ana­lysis meth­ods (exper­i­ence with these should be indic­ated when apply­ing).
