The TU Dres­den is one of ele­ven Ger­man uni­ver­si­ties that were iden­ti­fied as an “excel­lence uni­ver­sity”. TUD has about 36.500 stu­dents and almost 5319 employees, 507 pro­fes­sors among them, and, thus, is the lar­gest uni­ver­sity in Sax­ony, today.

Having been com­mit­ted to sci­en­ces and the engi­nee­ring before the reuni­fi­ca­tion of Ger­many, TU Dres­den now is a multi-disci­pline uni­ver­sity, also offe­ring huma­nities and social sci­en­ces as well as medi­cine.

For the EU Rese­arch Pro­ject “ATMO­S­PHERE, Pro­ject ID: 777154”, the Chair of Sys­tems Engi­nee­ring at the Insti­tute of Sys­tems Archi­tec­ture offers this posi­tion star­ting at 01.05.2018. The posi­tion is limi­ted until the end of the pro­ject 31.10.2019. The period of employ­ment is gover­ned by the Fixed-Term Rese­arch Con­tracts Act (Wis­sen­schafts­zeit­ver­trags­ge­setz- Wiss­ZeitVG). The posi­tion offers the chance to obtain fur­ther aca­de­mic qua­li­fi­ca­tion.

Work­ing field:

Inde­pen­dent rese­arch in the field of the chair, espe­cially in the field of Trusted Com­pu­ting with Intel SGX. In this con­text, the main rese­arch areas include the deve­lop­ment of soft­ware com­po­n­ents wit­hin the frame­work of the ATMO­S­PHERE third-party pro­ject. The deve­lop­ment, publi­ca­tion and pre­sen­ta­tion of sci­en­ti­fic publi­ca­ti­ons at natio­nal and inter­na­tio­nal con­fe­ren­ces as well as jour­nals are expec­ted.


  • very good uni­versity degree (M.Sc., Dipl.) in Com­puter Sci­ence or related fields; strong skills in dis­trib­uted sys­tems, Secure data man­age­ment
  • good know­ledge of dis­trib­uted algorithms; prac­tical exper­i­ence in deal­ing with dif­fer­ent pro­gram­ming lan­guages and con­cepts
  • abil­ity to work inde­pend­ently and pur­pose­fully in a team
  • interest in inter­dis­cip­lin­ary cooper­a­tion in all areas of com­puter sci­ence as well as with indus­trial part­ners
  • flu­ency in Eng­lish- writ­ten and oral
  • an integ­rat­ive and cooper­at­ive per­son­al­ity with excel­lent com­mu­nic­a­tion and social skills
  • high engage­ment.

Pre­vi­ous exper­i­ence in the field of Trus­ted Com­put­ing is bene­fi­cial.
