Work­ing field:

  • char­ac­ter­iz­a­tion of micro­bial diversity in sed­i­ment samples
  • research in the field of astro­bi­o­logy
  • super­vi­sion of stu­dents in BSc and MSc pro­grams
  • applic­a­tion of micro­bial meth­ods
  • sample acquis­i­tion in the field
  • PhD thesis pre­par­a­tion is pos­sible


  • suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) in a suit­able dis­cip­line
  • exper­i­ence with meta­ge­n­omic ana­lyses
  • basic know­ledge in geo­bi­o­logy and micro­bial physiology
  • advanced know­ledge in bioin­form­at­ics and com­pu­ta­tional bio­logy
  • advanced Eng­lish lan­guage skills (writ­ten and spoken)
  • abil­ity to work in an inter­dis­cip­lin­ary and inter­na­tional research team
