Work­ing field:

The TU Ber­lin Sum­mer Uni­versity is seek­ing Stu­dent Assist­ants for its 2018 sum­mer school pro­gram. Sup­port will be needed within the time­frame of the 4th of June to the 16th of August. The pro­gram provides short courses to inter­na­tional stu­dents vis­it­ing the TU Ber­lin over the sum­mer.

Key respons­ib­il­it­ies:
  • Sup­port the run­ning of the TU Ber­lin Sum­mer Uni­versity, primar­ily the deliv­ery of cul­tural activ­it­ies, accom­pa­ny­ing excur­sions around Ber­lin, sup­port­ing stu­dent wel­come days, being the first point of con­tact for the sum­mer school stu­dents dur­ing excur­sions, tak­ing pho­tos etc.
  • Provide admin­is­trat­ive sup­port to the TU Ber­lin Sum­mer Uni­versity Team at its headquar­ters in Char­lot­ten­burg in the week pre­ced­ing the Sum­mer Uni­versity includ­ing: book­ing excur­sions, pre­par­a­tion of wel­come bags and wel­come events, gen­eral event assist­ance, respond­ing to inter­na­tional stu­dent enquir­ies – and other tasks as required


  • Interest in inter­cul­tural rela­tion­ships and com­mu­nic­a­tion
  • Excel­lent Ger­man and Eng­lish lan­guage skills (min­imum level C1)
  • Excel­lent inter­per­sonal skills, flex­ib­il­ity and the abil­ity to work under pres­sure

No spe­cific field of study is neces­sary for this role! All are accept­able.

What we of­fer:

  • The role com­mences offi­cially on June 4th and con­cludes on approx­im­ately August 16th, however start dates can be flex­ible. Depend­ing on the volume of stu­dent enrol­ments for the sum­mer uni­versity, applic­ants may also be reques­ted to com­mence earlier (if desired!)
  • Pay is based on the stand­ard con­di­tions of a Stu­dent Assist­ant pos­i­tion and is set at €12.50 an hour, for a fixed, short-term con­tract
  • Hours are flex­ible, but in gen­eral offered at around 20 hours a week
  • The pos­sib­il­ity for addi­tional work dur­ing the winter pro­gram exists (Janu­ary 2019) for inter­ested can­did­ates
