StepUp! Strength­en­ing indi­vidual career choice com­pet­en­cies.
StepUp! is a three-year pro­ject fun­ded by the Mer­cator found­a­tion. Our goal is to cre­ate a scien-tific data basis to pro­mote the indi­vidual devel­op­ment of career choice com­pet­en­cies of all ado-les­cents, but espe­cially of those who are socially dis­ad­vant­aged. The study aims to sup­port the trans­ition to a more tar­geted and thus more effect­ive voca­tional and career edu­ca­tion in Ger-many.

Work­ing field:

  • Organ­iz­a­tion and imple­ment­a­tion of data col­lec­tion and data ana­lysis
  • Lit­er­at­ure and scale research; par­ti­cip­a­tion in the devel­op­ment and adap­tion of meas­ure­ment tools
  • Cre­ation of sci­entific pub­lic­a­tions and research reports
  • Present­a­tion of eval­u­ation res­ults and report­ing for dif­fer­ent tar­get groups (e.g. research­ers, teach­ers)
  • Con­duct­ing work­shops with schools

There is the pos­sib­il­ity of an accom­pa­ny­ing doc­tor­ate.

Require­ments:

  • Suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) in Psy­cho­logy or Edu­ca­tional Sci­ence
  • Exper­i­ence in con­duct­ing empir­ical research pro­jects (e.g., sur­veys)
  • Solid com­pet­en­cies in quant­it­at­ive data ana­lysis using stand­ard stat­ist­ical pro­grams (SPSS, Mplus, and/or R)
  • Exper­i­ence in present­ing and doc­u­ment­ing sci­entific res­ults
  • Excel­lent com­mand of the Ger­man lan­guage, spoken and writ­ten
  • Very good com­mand of the Eng­lish lan­guage, spoken and writ­ten
  • Excel­lent com­mu­nic­a­tion and cooper­a­tion skills
  • Pro­found know­ledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Power­Point)
  • Inde­pend­ent, sys­tem­atic and accur­ate way of work­ing
