The expansion of the Internet into the physical world (Internet of Things, Cyber-Physical Systems) requires the integration of many areas of research, such as: Web technologies, distributed systems, database systems, networks and sensor networks. The Department of Open Distributed Systems (ODS) is dedicated to the development of scalable technologies and platforms for this area, with special emphasis on Semantic Web and Linked Data technologies for power data processing. Thereby, a multitude of interesting open research questions have to be solved in order to enable simple distributed scalable data management with simultaneous network efficiency.

Working field:

Currently we are looking for a PhD researcher to work on and research exciting scientific questions in this field. The successful candidate will conduct research in an interesting and inspiring group and play an active role in teaching and mentoring students.

d) distributed systems
e) cloud
f) semantic Web and Linked Data
  • very good programming skills (C / C ++, Java, Python)
  • interest in challenging scientific issues and motivation for independent and focused research
