for the chair of „Brewing Science and Beverage Technology".

The University Professor is an endowed chair of the "Versuchs- und Lehranstalt für Brauerei e.V.".
The successful candidate has to represent the area of Brewing Science and Beverage Technology in its entirety in teaching and research. Competence in the brewing science and beverage technology including its biotechnological and process engineering aspects has to be conveyed to the students.
Teaching responsibilities will focus primarily on the programs in B.Sc., B.Eng and M.Sc. Brewing Science and Beverage Technology. The willingness and ability to teach in the English language is a prerequisite. In addition, the successful candidate should provide topics for and supervise Bachelor, Master and Doctoral theses, which should also be open for students of food chemistry, food technology and biotechnology.
The candidate may additionally be in a leading position at a division of the Versuchs- und Lehranstalt für Brauerei (VLB).
Candidates should fulfill the requirements for appointment at the professor level in compliance with
§ 100 BerlHG (Berlin Higher Education Act), including a finished academic education, qualified achievements in research (PhD), post-doctoral lecture qualification (Habilitation) or equivalent qualification (e.g. documented by the quality of scientific papers) and pedagogical didactic qualifications, to be given proof of by a teaching portfolio.
Teaching experience, including experience in leading a large research group, a well-defined and internationally excelling research profile on a current topic of brewing science and beverage technology, documented by publications in peer reviewed journals, are required.
Experience in the acquisition and administration of third party-funded projects are a prerequisite.
Experience in working with interdisciplinary teams, international experience and competence in promotion of junior and female scientists as well as gender mainstreaming are welcome. For applicants who do not speak German, a commitment to swiftly learn the language is expected. Good English language skills are desired.
