RWTH Aachen - Chair of Botany and Molecular Genetics
The Chair of Botany and Molecular Genetics at RWTH Aachen University is headed by Prof. Björn Usadel (www.usadellab.org), and one of the leading groups in plant omics data integration. Our research focuses on genetic and genomic analysis, and regulation of plant metabolism, using bioinformatics and systems biology and data integration approaches. In the field of omics research, we are leading in the development and evaluation of plant genome data by sequencing through nanopores - a unique and revolutionary technology that allows real-time data acquisition and data analysis of nucleic acids while interacting directly with a protein-based nanopore.
We offer state-of-the-art techniques of Next Generation Sequencing and data analysis as well as national and international collaborations in an EU project. RWTH Aachen University offers career development trainings.
Analysis of Next Generation Sequencing data
Integration of genomic data with phenotypic data for horticultural species to explain genotype-environment interactions
Data visualization, data integration and data mining
Communication with collaboration partners (national and international) including travelling
Writing scientific publications
Applicants must have a doctorate/Ph.D. or equivalent.
You have completed your PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics or a related field.
