Technische Universität Berlin - Faculty III - Institute for Chemical and Process Engineering / FG Process Dynamics and Operations Group
Research Assistant - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschule
part-time employment may be possible
under the reserve that funds are granted
The Process Dynamics and Operations Group is looking for a new colleague for an exciting new project on the flue gas desulfurization of coke oven gas. The goal is to develop so-called wet oxidative gas desulphurization processes using new technologies and using modern process simulation tools in terms of energy use and resource efficiency. For this purpose, further experiments are to be carried out at the TU Berlin with an already existing pilot plant. Based on the knowledge gained, a pilot plant is to be designed and built, which will then be operated on a coking plant under real conditions. At the same time, an already existing process simulation is to be extended, which is then validated with the experimental data from the field trials.
Specific tasks within the project are:
Construction and operation of a pilot plant for the flue gas desulphurisation of coke oven gas
Design of process engineering apparatusses and machines
Creation of plant documents in 2D and 3D
Technical specification and procurement of plant equipment
Preparation of experimental plans and conducting of experimental campaigns
Process modeling, simulation, and model validation on experimental plant data
For this position, you bring along a successfully completed academic degree (Diplom, Master or equivalent) in energy and process engineering, chemical engineering, information technology in mechanical engineering, or equivalent degree programs. You also bring communication skills, assertiveness and a certain degree of willingness to travel. You think and plan with foresight and responsibility in order to be able to guarantee safe plant operation in the long term. In addition, you ideally have knowledge in plant and apparatus engineering, in process automation, in handling flowsheet simulators and in safety technology. We are a very internation team. Hence, language skills in English are always of help.
