The Process Dynamics and Operations Group is looking for a new colleague for an exciting new project on Charaterization, Simulation and Testing of Physical Defoaming Methods in Large-scale Plants. The project is part of a DFG-AiF cluster with cooperation partners across Germany. Based on a new test cell experiments on the formation of foam will be carried out influence by various micro- and macro-structures.
Specific tasks within the project are:
design of a new test cell to conduct LIF, PIV, and PTV experiments based on an existing cell at the department
modifications to reduce foaming (material/surface)
experiments on active anti-foam methods, such as gas pulsation or ultrasonic sound
You have a successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in energy and process engineering or alike above average. You have experience in plant design, construction and operation, as well as laboratory experience. Ideally, you have a wide knowledge of optical measurement methods, such as LIF and PIV. Fundamental knowledge of optimal design of experiments and in methods of correlation or variable reduction (e.g. outlier elimination or principle component analysis) would be beneficial as well. We are a very international team. Hence, language skills in English are always of help.
