RWTH Aachen - Lehrstuhl für Biotechnologie

The core competence of the research group of Prof. Schwaneberg (http://www.biotec.rwth-aachen.de/) is the evolutionary and rational design of proteins. Our projects range from basic research to elucidate structure-function relationships and their modeling, methodological developments for Directed Evolution and optimization of biocatalysts for industrial production. In the DWI-Leibniz Institute for Interactive Materials we pursue two application fields in which we tailor peptides for surface functionalization and chiral membrane separation with a focus on medical applications.
The Group of Prof. Schwaneberg offers a highly international and stimulating research environment with state-of-the-art equipment and core facilities for molecular biology, high throughput screening (HTS) and computational biotechnology. We closely collaborating with industry and provide a creative working atmosphere with cutting-edge research projects.
