Tech­ni­sche Uni­ver­si­tät Dres­den - Cen­ter for Rege­ne­ra­tive The­ra­pies Dres­den (CRTD), Cen­ter for Mole­cu­lar and Cel­lu­lar Bio­en­gi­nee­ring (CMCB)

The TU Dres­den is one of ele­ven Ger­man uni­ver­si­ties that were iden­ti­fied as an “excel­lence uni­ver­sity”. TUD has about 36.500 stu­dents and almost 5319 employees, 507 pro­fes­sors among them, and, thus, is the lar­gest uni­ver­sity in Sax­ony, today.

Having been com­mit­ted to sci­en­ces and the engi­nee­ring before the reuni­fi­ca­tion of Ger­many, TU Dres­den now is a multi-disci­pline uni­ver­sity, also offe­ring huma­nities and social sci­en­ces as well as medi­cine.

Rese­arch Asso­ciate / Post­doc

The pro­ject posi­tion starts from 01.03.2019 until 31.12.2019. The period of employ­ment is gover­ned by the Fixed Term Rese­arch Con­tracts Act (based on § 2 (2) Wiss­ZeitVG).
The CRTD is among the world-lea­ding Reg­Med cen­ters com­bi­ning fun­da­men­tal rese­arch and clin-ical app­li­ca­tion. The CRTD is aiming to rese­arch the self-hea­ling poten­tial of the body and to de-velop com­ple­tely new rege­ne­ra­tive the­ra­pies for so far incura­ble disea­ses. The rese­arch focu­ses on hema­to­logy and immu­no­logy, dia­be­tes, neu­ro­de­ge­ne­ra­tive disea­ses, bone and car­ti­lage re-pla­ce­ments as well as car­dio­vas­cu­lar disea­ses.

Work­ing field:

working on the rese­arch pro­ject; dif­fe­ren­tia­tion of RPE cells; deve­lop­ment and esta­blish­ment of an auto­ma­tic trans­fer from RPE cells to 384-well scree­ning pla­tes; crea­tion of Stan­dard Ope­ra­ting Pro­ce­du­res; exe­cu­tion of sub­stance scree­nings, data ana­ly­sis; par­ti­ci­pa­tion in ortho­go­nal assays for reti­nal disea­ses and toxi­city stu­dies; gene­ra­tion and vali­da­tion of Mertk-/-cells as well as their esta­blish­ment in RPE dif­fe­ren­tia­tion


uni­ver­sity degree with PhD in bio­logy with broad know­ledge in rege­ne­ra­tive and deve­lop­men­tal bio­logy, bio­che­mis­try, ana­lytics, live-ima­ging, his­to­logy, cell cul­ture, mole­cu­lar tech­ni­ques and micro­scopy; Eng­lish lan­guage skills are essen­tial; dis­po­si­tion for weekend and holi­day work. You are asser­tive and com­mu­ni­ca­tive, have high orga­ni­sa­tio­nal skills and are very team-ori­en­ted. You are highly moti­va­ted to take on new tasks and seek for new chal­len­ges. You think ana­lyti­cally and are open for new ideas. Your per­so­na­lity is com­ple­ted by your con­fi­dent appearance, the ability to work goal-ori­en­ted and sys­te­ma­ti­cally and to be con­vin­cing in per­so­nal encoun­ters. Work expe­ri­ence in a simi­lar envi­ron­ment is desi­red.
