Independent coordination of the project „Andosol genesis: Transition from silandic to aluandic properties and the related changes for organic carbon storage. “
Conception, installation and test of experiments
Field soil sampling in a foreign country
Cooperation with project partners in cross-project experiments
Supervising theses of students
Participation in planned (inter)national conferences and presentation of the results
Written documentation of progress (agreed with the project management)
Publication of results in scientific journals
successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) preferably in the field of environmental engineering with emphasis on soil science
Fluent in spoken and written English, Spanish and German
In-depth knowledge and practical experience in soil chemistry (binding mechanisms within the soil matrix, weathering processes in general and of Andosols) and soil physics (aggregate stability, POM within the soil matrix)
Profound knowledge in soil science methods (e.g. sorption experiments, POM occlusive strength, column experiments, field soil sampling), wet chemical methods and spectroscopic methods for mineral characterization in Andosols and statistics
Knowledge of R, LaTeX, LibreOffice and Linux
Willing to travel to foreign countries
