Work­ing field:

  • Inde­pend­ent coordin­a­tion of the pro­ject „Andosol gen­esis: Trans­ition from sil­andic to alu­an­dic prop­er­ties and the related changes for organic car­bon stor­age. “
  • Con­cep­tion, install­a­tion and test of exper­i­ments
  • Field soil sampling in a for­eign coun­try
  • Cooper­a­tion with pro­ject part­ners in cross-pro­ject exper­i­ments
  • Super­vising theses of stu­dents
  • Par­ti­cip­a­tion in planned (inter)national con­fer­ences and present­a­tion of the res­ults
  • Writ­ten doc­u­ment­a­tion of pro­gress (agreed with the pro­ject man­age­ment)
  • Pub­lic­a­tion of res­ults in sci­entific journ­als


  • suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) prefer­ably in the field of envir­on­mental engin­eer­ing with emphasis on soil sci­ence
  • Flu­ent in spoken and writ­ten Eng­lish, Span­ish and Ger­man
  • In-depth know­ledge and prac­tical exper­i­ence in soil chem­istry (bind­ing mech­an­isms within the soil mat­rix, weath­er­ing pro­cesses in gen­eral and of Andosols) and soil phys­ics (aggreg­ate sta­bil­ity, POM within the soil mat­rix)
  • Pro­found know­ledge in soil sci­ence meth­ods (e.g. sorp­tion exper­i­ments, POM occlus­ive strength, column exper­i­ments, field soil sampling), wet chem­ical meth­ods and spec­tro­scopic meth­ods for min­eral char­ac­ter­iz­a­tion in Andosols and stat­ist­ics
  • Know­ledge of R, LaTeX, Lib­reOf­fice and Linux
  • Will­ing to travel to for­eign coun­tries
