The group of hydro­geo­logy depart­ment invest­ig­ates the com­plex beha­vior of dis­sol­ved con­stitu­ents and microor­gan­isms in the envir­on­ment and deals with the man­age­ment of water resour­ces in hydro­lo­gic­ally sens­it­ive regi­ons. The selec­ted can­did­ate will be integ­rated into a young inter­dis­cip­lin­ary rese­arch group of hydro­geo­lo­gists, civil engin­eers, and model­ers.

Work­ing field:

The suc­cess­ful can­did­ate will do rese­arch in an inter­est­ing and inspir­ing group and plays an act­ive role in devel­op­ing rese­arch con­cepts in the field of exper­i­men­tal hydro­geo­logy. She/he will teach cour­ses in the field of exper­i­men­tal hydro­geo­logy and con­trib­ute to the super­vi­sion of under­gradu­ate, gradu­ate, and PhD stu­dents. The can­did­ate is co-res­pons­ible for the sub­ject area “Exper­i­men­tal Hydro­geo­logy”, as well as for the main­ten­ance of the field and labor­at­ory equip­ment, and he/she will also sup­port the chair in acquir­ing third party fund­ing. The pos­i­tion offers the oppor­tun­ity for estab­lish­ing of an inde­pend­ent sci­ent­i­fic rese­arch group as part of fur­ther qual­i­fic­a­tion to habil­it­a­tion.

Require­ments:

  • Suc­cess­fully com­ple­ted uni­ver­sity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­loma or equi­val­ent) and PhD in hydro­geo­logy
  • Exper­i­ence in exper­i­men­tal hydro­geo­logy (labor­at­ory and/or field meth­ods)
  • Rese­arch exper­i­ence are advant­age­ous
  • Pro­fes­sio­nal work exper­i­ence in hydro­geo­logy is desi­red.
  • com­mit­ment, will­ing­ness and abil­ity to work in a team
  • Good com­mu­nic­a­tion skills, espe­cially good know­ledge of the Eng­lish lan­guage and basic know­ledge of the Ger­man lan­guage
