Research Assist­ant (PhD can­did­ate) - 0.75 work­ing time - salary grade E13 TV-L Ber­liner Hoch­schu­len

Work­ing field:

Research in the field of real algeb­raic geo­metry, the pre­par­a­tion of a doc­toral thesis is pro­moted. Can­did­ates are also expec­ted to sup­port the head of the work­ing group in research, advanced teach­ing and aca­demic self-admin­is­tra­tion.

Require­ments:

Suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) in math­em­at­ics. Rel­ev­ant know­ledge in the field of algeb­raic geo­metry is a pre­requis­ite. Pre­vi­ous know­ledge in the area of real algebra, com­mut­at­ive algebra, con­vex optim­iz­a­tion or matroid the­ory is par­tic­u­larly desir­able. We are look­ing for a highly motiv­ated can­did­ate, who would like to fur­ther qual­ify her­self/him­self through out­stand­ing research with a doc­tor­ate in one of the above-men­tioned work­ing fields. Good Eng­lish lan­guage skills are desired.
