Work­ing field:

Die Research Group DIMA at TU Ber­lin is seek­ing to fill a pos­i­tion as Prin­cipal Researcher in the Ber­lin Big Data Cen­ter for the research area BIG DATA ANA­LYT­ICS. The pos­i­tion encom­passes con­duct­ing research and the sci­entific coordin­a­tion of the pro­ject part­ners, inter­ac­tion with cooper­a­tion part­ners, present­a­tion and rep­res­ent­a­tion of the BBDC intern­ally and extern­ally, with industry and media, and invest­ig­ates research chal­lenges in scal­able data man­age­ment and data sci­ence.

Require­ments:

Suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) and a PhD in Data Man­age­ment. Can­did­ates should be inter­ested in con­duct­ing research and sys­tem-devel­op­ment in a real-world applic­a­tion set­ting. In par­tic­u­lar we expect a pub­lic­a­tion record at lead­ing data man­age­ment con­fer­ences such as SIG­MOD and VLDB as well as exper­i­ences in pro­ject coordin­a­tion. Applic­ants exper­i­enced in big data ana­lyt­ics sys­tems, such as Apache Flink or Spark as well as open source devel­op­ment will be looked upon favor­ably. Excel­lent Eng­lish lan­guage skills are a pre­requis­ite.
