Research assistant - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen
part-time employment may be possible
Within the BMBF-funded project "Microelectronic system for cell separation - SepaDiElo", systems for dielectrophoretic cell separation are to be developed. The interdisciplinary work will take place in the Joint Lab Bioelectronics of the TU Berlin and the IHP Leibniz Institute Frankfurt/Oder. The project-specific tasks include:
Participation in system construction of a microfluidic cell separation system on an electronic basis for applications in biotechnology.
Cultivation of heterotrophic microalgae with microscopic and metabolic analysis.
Commissioning of a laboratory measuring station for microfluidic experiments, system tests with different industrially used microorganisms (especially microalgae) to investigate their separability by variation of electrical parameters, channel and electrode geometry.
Participation in the development of an application perspective for corresponding products.
Successfully completed scientific university degree (Master, Diplom or equivlaent) in the field of biotechnology with proven microbiological and engineering specializations in the field of industrial biotechnology.
Demonstrably good knowledge of sterile work, cultivation of microorganisms, basic analytical methods, presentation of scientific results and the ability to work interdisciplinary in a project consortium.
Advantageous additional experiences: Experience in the fermentation of microorganisms, microscopy or flow cytometry; experience in the fields of microfluidics, electronic sensor technology or actuators or practical experience in the field of electronics/microelectronics/microsystems technology as well as knowledge of CAD or EDA software.
The candidate should be characterized by open communication and good language skills in German and English.
