The Institute of Landscape Architecture is one of the most research-oriented institutes at the Faculty of Architecture at RWTH Aachen University. We investigate the role of landscape and green spaces for sustainable urban and regional development and are active in the areas of green infrastructure, urban agriculture and cultural heritage. We are part of inter-disciplinary and pan-European research networks.  

Research Assistant/Associate

Work­ing field:

You will join the European Hori­zon 2020 rese­arch pro­ject “pro­GI­reg“ (pro­duc­tive Green Infra­st­ruc­ture for post-indus­trial urban rege­ne­ra­tion) working on the deve­lop­ment, imple­men­ta­tion and assess­ment of nature-based solu­ti­ons for cities. You will coor­di­nate the work package for the co-design of nature-based solu­ti­ons in Dort­mund, Turin and Zagreb and four other European cities and con­tri­bute to the over­all manage­ment of the pro­ject.
You will also be invol­ved in tea­ching in the Bache­lor's and Mas­ter's cour­ses in Archi­tec­ture and Urban Plan­ning.

Require­ments:

You accom­plished a Mas­ter’s degree in land­s­cape archi­tec­ture, or land­s­cape plan­ning or a com­pa­ra­ble qua­li­fi­ca­tion. You have first expe­ri­ence in working on rese­arch pro­jects or other inter-disci­pli­nary pro­jects in an inter­na­tio­nal con­text. You have a good com­mand of Eng­lish as a working lan­guage (spo­ken and writ­ten). You want to explore how green infra­st­ruc­ture can shape bet­ter cities inclu­ding plan­ning and design, sta­ke­hol­der invol­ve­ment as well as imple­men­ta­tion and moni­to­ring. You par­ti­cu­larly enjoy working with stu­dents and rese­arch part­ners in a inter­na­tio­nal and inter­di­sci­pli­nary envi­ron­ment.

What we of­fer:

The posi­tion is 31.05.2023 and is to be fil­led by Octo­ber 1, 2019. This is a full-time posi­tion. It is also avail­able as part-time employ­ment per request.

The suc­cess­ful can­di­date has the oppor­tu­nity to pur­sue a doc­to­ral degree.

The salary cor­re­sponds to level EG 13 TV-L.
