The Institute of Landscape Architecture is one of the most research-oriented institutes at the Faculty of Architecture at RWTH Aachen University. We investigate the role of landscape and green spaces for sustainable urban and regional development and are active in the areas of green infrastructure, urban agriculture and cultural heritage. We are part of inter-disciplinary and pan-European research networks.
You will join the European Horizon 2020 research project “proGIreg“ (productive Green Infrastructure for post-industrial urban regeneration) working on the development, implementation and assessment of nature-based solutions for cities. You will coordinate the work package for the co-design of nature-based solutions in Dortmund, Turin and Zagreb and four other European cities and contribute to the overall management of the project.
You will also be involved in teaching in the Bachelor's and Master's courses in Architecture and Urban Planning.
You accomplished a Master’s degree in landscape architecture, or landscape planning or a comparable qualification. You have first experience in working on research projects or other inter-disciplinary projects in an international context. You have a good command of English as a working language (spoken and written). You want to explore how green infrastructure can shape better cities including planning and design, stakeholder involvement as well as implementation and monitoring. You particularly enjoy working with students and research partners in a international and interdisciplinary environment.
What we offer:
The position is 31.05.2023 and is to be filled by October 1, 2019. This is a full-time position. It is also available as part-time employment per request.
The successful candidate has the opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree.
The salary corresponds to level EG 13 TV-L.
