Research Assistant (PhD candidate) - 0.75 working time - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen
The position is attached to the Collaborative Research Center SFB 910 "Control of self-organizing nonlinear systems: Theoretical methods and concepts of application" in project B4: "Control of flow patterns in complex fluids on the micron scale". The research focuses on the control in intertial microfluids using lattice-Boltzmann simulations. The tasks include studying the control of self-assembly of soft particles under flow, particle flow and its control in inertial viscoelastic media, and viscosity-stratified flows. The preparation of a PhD thesis is possible.
Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in physics or a comparable subject. Very good knowledge in theoretical physics. Good knowledge in statistical physics of soft matter and biological systems as well as experience in numerical methods are desired. Independent work style and high level of commitment. Good English language skills are required.
