Work­ing Stu­dent for Sci­entific Com­mu­nic­a­tion, Mar­ket­ing and Out­reach

Work­ing field:

Sci­enceOpen is a freely access­ible net­work for aggreg­at­ing, shar­ing, and eval­u­at­ing research inform­a­tion with over 57 mil­lion Open Access art­icles and records. An innov­at­ive young com­pany loc­ated in Ber­lin and Boston, Sci­enceOpen strives to develop new solu­tions for schol­arly pub­lish­ing.
We are cur­rently seek­ing motiv­ated stu­dents to join our team as Stu­dent Assist­ant for Com­mu­nic­a­tion and Out­reach to sup­port our sales, mar­ket­ing and out­reach activ­it­ies. We are a small but dynamic team loc­ated in Pren­zlauer Berg. You would be respons­ible for

  • Pro­mo­tion of Sci­enceOpen con­tent on Twit­ter, Face­book and other social media chan­nels
  • Sup­port in devel­op­ing and imple­ment­ing social media mar­ket­ing cam­paigns
  • Writ­ing and pub­lish­ing blog posts on gen­eral top­ics in schol­arly pub­lish­ing, as well as pro­mot­ing cus­tomer con­tent and new fea­tures on the plat­form
  • Work­ing with cus­tom­ers on mar­ket­ing strategies
  • Pre­par­ing and dis­trib­ut­ing press releases
  • Out­reach to research­ers and sup­port in devel­op­ing art­icle Col­lec­tions
  • Back office research and stat­ist­ics
  • Web­site test­ing

Require­ments:

You should have an interest in sci­entific com­mu­nic­a­tion, good organ­iz­a­tional and writ­ing skills and a high level of Eng­lish flu­ency. Any exper­i­ence in the fields of media and com­mu­nic­a­tion, pub­lish­ing, lib­rary sci­ence or mar­ket­ing would be valu­able. Exper­i­ence with social media chan­nels such as Twit­ter, Face­book, LinkedIn, etc. pre­ferred. We are look­ing for stu­dent sup­port 20 hours / week with a com­pens­a­tion of 12 € / hour. Because of the com­plex­ity of the sub­ject and the res­ult­ing train­ing time, we require at least a 6-month com­mit­ment.
