Technische Universität Dresden - B CUBE – Center for Molecular Bioengineering

The TU Dresden is one of eleven German universities that were identified as an “excellence university”. TUD has about 36.500 students and almost 5319 employees, 507 professors among them, and, thus, is the largest university in Saxony, today.

Having been committed to sciences and the engineering before the reunification of Germany, TU Dresden now is a multi-discipline university, also offering humanities and social sciences as well as medicine.

The B CUBE – Center for Molecular Bioengineering, an institute of the Center for Molecular and Cellular Bioengineering is seeking applications for a position as Junior Research Fellow
starting 01.07.2020, in the field of synthetic biology, biochemistry, biophysics, or biological mate-rials. The position is limited for 3 years. Extension for additional two years is possible after posi-tive evaluation. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG).
B CUBE is an interdisciplinary research center focusing on three research dimensions: Bio-prospecting, BioNano Tools, and Biomimetic Materials (see The Junior Research Fellow will be part of a dynamic institute of TU Dresden situated on the Life Science Campus next to the Biotechnology Center, the DFG Cluster of Excellence “Physics of Life”, the Center for Regenerative Therapies, the School of Medicine, and the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics.

Working field:

The successful applicant will receive an own research budget for a period of three years and will be scientifically independent. During the fellowship, the applicant will be invited to apply, together with B CUBE, for junior group leader funding from, e.g. Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (Emmy-Noether program), European Union (ERC starting grant), VolkswagenStiftung (Freigeist fellow-ship) or equivalent programs.
