Research in the framework of the DFG-funded research project „Localization and identification of moving sound sources“ (LION):
further development of existing source localization and analysis methods for moving sound sources on transport aircraft
development and integration into the analysis methods of extended source models for a better analysis of fan- and propeller noise, modal sound fields emitted from engine ducts, and of dipole sources that occur e.g. at high-lift devices
extension of the SODIX (source directivity modeling in the cross-spectral matrix) method to moving sources
successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent), preferably in engineering, physics, or related disciplines
experience in technical acoustics, especially in aeroacoustics and methods of acoustic source localization
experience with signal processing methods
very good programming skills and experience with Python 3
good background in the relevant mathematics
basic knowlege of numerical methods (CFD/CAA)
basic knowledge of turbomachinery and aircraft engines
competence to present technical and scientific content in oral and written communication
ability to integrate into a team
self-motivation and target orientation
fluent (oral and written) in German and English
