Work­ing field:

Research within the fol­low­ing Pro­ject of the CRC/TRR 109, fun­ded by the DFG (Ger­man Research Found­a­tion): C07: U. Pinkall: "Dis­cret­iz­ing flu­ids into fil­a­ments and sheets". PhD pre­par­a­tion is pos­sible.


  • Suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) in Math­em­at­ics is required
  • Thor­ough expert­ise in Geo­metry, espe­cially in Dif­fer­en­tial Geo­metry is a pre­requis­ite; a strong interest in the use of com­puter exper­i­ments for doing research in Math­em­at­ics and a strong interest in the applic­a­tion of Math­em­at­ics and Phys­ics in the field of Com­puter Graph­ics is desired
  • We expect inde­pend­ent work on high aca­demic level
  • Good com­mand of Ger­man and/or Eng­lish required; will­ing­ness to learn either Eng­lish or Ger­man is expec­ted
