As part of the Ger­man gov­ern­ment's AI strategy, a national com­pet­ence cen­ter for cut­ting-edge AI research has been estab­lished in Ber­lin. The Ber­lin Insti­tute for the Found­a­tions of Learn­ing and Data (BIFOLD), fun­ded by the Ger­man Fed­eral Min­istry of Edu­ca­tion and Research (BMBF) has the fol­low­ing goals:
- con­duct­ing cut­ting-edge research in the fields of big data, machine learn­ing, and their inter­faces,
- the devel­op­ment of new tech­no­lo­gies, tools and sys­tems to firmly anchor AI in sci­ence, busi­ness, and soci­ety at large,
- edu­cat­ing and train­ing the next gen­er­a­tion of AI experts, which are urgently needed world­wide.

Currently, we are look­ing for a highly motiv­ated, reli­able and flex­ible per­son with proven exper­i­ence in pro­ject man­age­ment.

Work­ing field:

  • coordin­at­ing and track­ing the over­all pro­gress in the pro­ject as well as the indi­vidual sub­pro­jects,
  • sup­port­ing the admin­is­tra­tion of third-party funds, i.e., mon­it­or­ing the budget, the alloc­a­tion of staff as well as report­ing oblig­a­tions (e.g., pub­lic­a­tions),
  • com­mu­nic­at­ing with the fund­ing agency (BMBF), the pro­ject man­age­ment agency (DLR), and the Tech­nis­che Uni­versität Ber­lin admin­is­tra­tion,
  • organ­iz­ing and imple­ment­ing work­shops, internal/external events, con­sor­tium meet­ings as well as review meet­ings.

Require­ments:

  • suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) or prefer­ably a doc­tor­ate in eco­nom­ics, nat­ural sci­ences, engin­eer­ing, com­puter sci­ence and/or related dis­cip­lines,
  • proven exper­i­ence in the man­age­ment of sci­entific pro­jects (e.g., EU, BMBF, BMWI),
  • strong com­mu­nic­a­tion and present­a­tion skills, con­fid­ent and self-assured appear­ance,
  • com­pet­ence in the hand­ling of stand­ard soft­ware; prior exper­i­ence with pro­ject man­age­ment meth­ods and tools is advant­age­ous,
  • abil­ity to work in a team and excel­lent know­ledge of both Ger­man and Eng­lish, to col­lab­or­ate with our inter­na­tional team.
