The DAI-Labor is offering job positions for scientific researchers (doctoral candidate) to work on EMPAIA (Ecosystem for Pathology Diagnostics with AI Assistance). The project is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy with the aim of establishing a platform for the safe use of AI solutions in the field of image based pathology. Together with consortium partners Charité, Fraunhofer MEVIS, Vitagroup and QuiP, the DAI-Labor is working on the multifaceted challenges associated with the application of AI algorithms to diagnostic pathology.
In addition to general involvement in all areas of the project, the focus of the position advertised here is the development and integration of various web services for managing data and AI applications.
Possibility to do a PhD within the research project.
Work in an applied research project for the development of an AI platform for large medical images
Development and integration of a decentralized platform for creating, managing, visualizing, and logging clinical data, AI applications, and their results
Supervising bachelor and master theses within the research project.
Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diploma or equivalent) in computer science, computer engineering, physics, mathematics or a related field
Knowledge of the concepts, methods, and technologies in the fields of software development (agile and test driven development, quality aspects, version control)
Knowledge of web service development and corresponding frameworks (HTTP, REST, JSON, FastAPI, ...), databases (MongoDB and/or SQL), authentication, logging, etc.
Good programming skills in Python or Java
good command of German and English
