Working field:

Project work within DFG funded research and development project:
  • design of InP-based photonic integrated circuits (PIC)
  • research and development of narrow linewidth PIC integrated complex lasers for injection locking
  • research and development of PIC integrated optical filters for microwave photonics
  • RF phase noise measurements
  • representation of the sub project within project and SSP consortium
  • dissemination and reporting

Pursuing a PhD degree due to the project related research and development work is welcome. The work will be in close collaboration with the Fraunhofer HHI for utilizing their InP process line and measurement equipment.


  • successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in physics or electrical engineering with the focus on photonics or semiconductors
  • knowledge of physics, function and fabrication of semiconductor components such as e.g. photodiodes, SOAs and lasers
  • basic knowledge of waveguide optics and monolithic integration of photodiodes with photonic circuits
  • basic knowledge regarding RF simulations
  • good English and knowledge of German language
