The TU Dres­den is one of ele­ven Ger­man uni­ver­si­ties that were iden­ti­fied as an “excel­lence uni­ver­sity”. TUD has about 36.500 stu­dents and almost 5319 employees, 507 pro­fes­sors among them, and, thus, is the lar­gest uni­ver­sity in Sax­ony, today.

Having been com­mit­ted to sci­en­ces and the engi­nee­ring before the reuni­fi­ca­tion of Ger­many, TU Dres­den now is a multi-disci­pline uni­ver­sity, also offe­ring huma­nities and social sci­en­ces as well as medi­cine.

Rese­arch Asso­ciate (m/f/x)

Thze posi­tion is star­ting as soon as pos­si­ble. The posi­tion com­pri­ses 50 % of the full­time wee­kly hours and is limi­ted for 24 mon­ths. The period of employ­ment is gover­ned by the Fixed Term Rese­arch Con­tracts Act (Wis­sen­schafts­zeit­ver­trags­ge­setz - WissZeitVG).The posi­tion aims at obtai­ning fur­ther aca­de­mic qua­li­fi­ca­tion.

Working field:

sci­en­ti­fic tea­ching and rese­arch activi­ties and aca­de­mic self-admi­nis­tra­tion tasks; In-situ mea­su­rement of fluid sys­tem is a power­ful method to unlock the trans­port pro­ces­ses in trans­pa­rent or trans­lucent con­ti­nuous medium. This also falls into the core rese­arch method of all rese­arch activi­ties we do in the Elec­tro­ma­gne­tic Sepa­ra­tion group. Wit­hin the past decade, we have estab­lished mul­ti­ple mea­su­rement plat­forms based on a mono­chro­no­ma­tic (632 nm) laser based Mach-Zehn­der Inter­fe­ro­me­ter. The can­di­date is asked to deve­lop fur­ther this tech­ni­que into a full color Inter­fe­ro­me­try. Based on the cur­rent tech­no­lo­gi­cal know­how, the can­di­date is asked to imple­ment two exis­ting TEM00 lon­gi­tu­di­nal mono-mode laser with wav­elength 532 nm and 473 nm into the exis­ting plat­form.

Requirements:

uni­ver­sity degree in Mecha­ni­cal Engi­nee­ring, Che­mi­cal Engi­nee­ring or equi­va­lent; pre­vious work rela­ted trans­port pro­cess simu­la­tion as well as opti­cal expe­ri­men­tal expe­ri­ence. A bonus is the under­stan­ding in machine lear­ning and che­mi­cal reac­tion kine­tics. A pro­ce­dure and object-ori­en­ted pro­gramming is pre­fer­red.
