The BTU is a young uni­versity that is act­ively help­ing to shape the struc­tural change in Lusa­tia to phase out lig­nite and is provid­ing sci­entific sup­port for trans­form­a­tion pro­cesses in many ways. In the com­ing dec­ades, the region will be one of the most excit­ing real labor­at­or­ies in Ger­many, from which ground­break­ing devel­op­ment impulses are to eman­ate. Employ­ment at the BTU there­fore prom­ises more than ever par­ti­cip­a­tion in devel­op­ment pro­cesses towards a sus­tain­able and cli-mate-friendly future.

PRO­FESS­OR­SHIP Con­struc­tion Engin­eer­ing and

com­men­cing at the earli­est oppor­tun­ity.

Working field:

The pro­fess­or­ship is part of the Insti­tute for Civil Engin­eer­ing.
A spe­cial focus is placed on innov­at­ive research in the field of digit­al­isa­tion of con­struc­tion. Act­ive par­ti­cip­a­tion in research activ­it­ies that are as inter­dis­cip­lin­ary as pos­sible is expec­ted. Par­ti­cip­a­tion in the struc­tural change in Lusa­tia, pro­fes­sional involve­ment in the design and sci­entific sup­port of asso­ci­ated trans­form­a­tion pro­cesses are expressly desired, as is par­ti­cip­a­tion in exper­i­mental research at the Research and Mater­i­als Test­ing Insti­tute (FMPA) belong­ing to the fac­ulty.
The courses in the bach­elor's and mas­ter's degree pro­grammes are to be held in Ger­man and Eng­lish.
The will­ing­ness to par­ti­cip­ate in aca­demic self-admin­is­tra­tion and in pro­fil­ing the fac­ulty is required. In lead­ing pos­i­tion Eng­lish-lan­guage courses are to be developed and coordin­ated.
Other duties res­ult from the require­ments set by § 42 Branden­bur­gisches Hoch­schul­ge­setz (Higher Edu­ca­tion Act of the State of Branden­burg - BbgHG) in con­junc­tion with § 3 BbgHG.


We are look­ing for a nation­ally and inter­na­tion­ally recog­nized per­son­al­ity with exper­i­ence in the fields of build­ing indus­tries, build­ing man­age­ment and con­struc­tion, proven through work in research, teach­ing and prac­tice. The pro­fessor should rep­res­ent the named areas in research and teach­ing.
Exper­i­ence in the acquis­i­tion of third-party fund­ing and in the imple­ment­a­tion of third-party fun­ded pro­jects is expec­ted. The research top­ics should be rel­ev­ant for the DFG or com­par­able inter­na­tional research fund­ing insti­tu­tions.
