The BTU is a young uni­versity that is act­ively help­ing to shape the struc­tural change in Lusa­tia to phase out lig­nite and is provid­ing sci­entific sup­port for trans­form­a­tion pro­cesses in many ways. In the com­ing dec­ades, the region will be one of the most excit­ing real labor­at­or­ies in Ger­many, from which ground­break­ing devel­op­ment impulses are to eman­ate. Employ­ment at the BTU there­fore prom­ises more than ever par­ti­cip­a­tion in devel­op­ment pro­cesses towards a sus­tain­able and cli-mate-friendly future.

Working field:

The emphasis in teach­ing should be in the medi­ation of clas­sical as well as exper­i­mental tech­niques in draw­ing, paint­ing, sculp­tural design, per­form­ance and mov­ing image. ‘Mater­ial’ as basis for spa­tial con­text should be reflec­ted upon and made haptic­ally per­cept­ible. Artistic strategies and design tech­niques shall be taught in par­tic­u­lar to stu­dents of archi­tec­ture and urban plan­ning; teach­ing duties shall be per­formed in all levels of the Bach­elor's and Mas­ter's degree courses within the fac­ulty in the form of pro­ject-based stud­ies and spe­cial­ized sem­inars.
Act­ive third-party fund-rais­ing and inter­dis­cip­lin­ary cooper­a­tion in teach­ing and research within and out­side the fac­ulty are expec­ted, as is exper­i­ence in the imple­ment­a­tion of artistic devel­op­ment pro­jects and the act­ive fur­ther devel­op­ment of one's own work with accom­pa­ny­ing exhib­i­tions and pub­lic­a­tions. Accept­ing respons­ib­il­ity to pro­mote fur­ther qual­i­fic­a­tions of employ­ees, cooper­a­tion in internal admin­is­trat­ive duties and in the enhance­ment of the fac­ulty pro­file is assumed. Super­vi­sion of "Kunst am Bau" pro­jects on the cam­pus of the BTU is desired.
Other duties res­ult from the require­ments set by § 42 Branden­bur­gisches Hoch­schul­ge­setz (Higher Edu­ca­tion Act of the State of Branden­burg - BbgHG) in con­junc­tion with § 3 BbgHG.

Requirements:

We are seek­ing an out­stand­ing per­son­al­ity with an inde­pend­ent artistic work in the field of sculp­ture, who exhib­its a focus on spa­tial prac­tice, or an engage­ment with spa­tial per­cep­tion.
Exper­i­ence in the acquis­i­tion and real­iz­a­tion of third-party fun­ded pro­jects is expec­ted. Fields of research should be rel­ev­ant for the DFG (Ger­man Research Found­a­tion) or sim­ilar inter­na­tional research fund­ing organ­isa­tions.
