Research Assist­ant (PostDoc) - salary grade 13 TV-L Ber­liner Hoch­schu­len - 2nd qual­i­fic­a­tion period (Habil­it­a­tion)

part-time employment may be possible

The position is initially limited to 5 years. In case of a successful habilitation and further scientific achievements as well as the fulfillment of other requirements for employment, the position can be made permanent.

Working field:

  • Cooperation and support of the head of department in teaching and research
  • Research in the field of flight mechanics and flight control of elastic aircraft in connection with software development and flight testing of unmanned aerial vehicles
  • Responsible for teaching tasks in the areas of: Control theory, computer science, flight mechanics and aeroelasticity (lectures and exercises)
  • Support in the development and organisation of new modules in the department
  • Publication of research results in journals and at conferences
  • Support in submission and development of third-party funded projects
  • Supervision of students (bachelor and master thesis) and support with publications of PhD candidates
  • Administrative tasks in the department
  • Willingness to complete a Habilitation

Requirements:

  • Scientific university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in the field of aerospace engineering or engineering sciences with very good knowledge in the field of flight mechanics, control theory and computer science
  • PhD in the field of flight mechanics, flight control or aeroelasticity
  • In-depth knowledge of the programming language C; Preferably in another high-level programming language (e.g. Fortran or Phyton) and in dealing with embedded systems
  • Confident handling of Matlab/ Simulink
  • Knowledge in modelling elastic bodies and aeroelasticity
  • Teaching experience
  • International publications in the field of flight mechanics, flight control and aeroelasticity
  • Communication skills, ability to work in a team and personal initiative
  • Confident knowledge of the German language (min. C1 level) and English language
