Climate Analytics is a non-profit climate science and policy institute, established in 2008. We are based in Berlin (Germany) with offices in New York (USA), Lomé (Togo) and Perth (Australia) with staff and associates across Europe, South America, Australia, Africa and Asia. The institute’s mission is to synthesise and advance scientific knowledge in the area of climate change and on this basis provide support and capacity building to stakeholders.
Climate Analytics is a team of scientists and policy analysts with long experience in the international climate change debate. The team is backed by its own and co-developed science-based models to assess and synthesise climate science. By linking scientific and policy analysis, we provide state-of-the-art solutions to global and national climate change policy challenges. IT Administration Officer (in part-time) (all genders)
We are currently seeking an IT Administration Officer (in part-time) (all genders) in part time (20 hours/week) for our international and diverse Team to ensure our IT Administration as well as start projects to improve our IT landscape. If you’re interested in helping us building up a sustainable IT infrastructure with compliant policies and procedures for an international non-profit in the field of Climate Change, this is your job!
You will support the global Climate Analytics Team in all IT related questions and tasks, together with our external IT service partner. This includes:
You take care of all IT related issues of all offices. You solve the issue on your own or coordinate with our external IT service partner and communicate the solution with the colleagues via ticket system.
You set up and maintain our office hardware, Apple and Windows notebooks and mobile phones.
You set up and maintain all software accounts for staff together with our Office Assistant.
The global account and license management (Microsoft, Google, Box, Zoom, Trello, Slack, etc.) is in your hands.
You administrate our ERP software in collaboration with our Finance Officers and HR.
Communication is key! You actively communicate with our management team, the colleagues and external providers and coordinate, involve, explain and train them if necessary.
Together with our service provider you analyze our hardware and software landscape and come up with ideas how to improve our existing solutions and structures and/or implement new ones, so that they fit to our growing and international environment.
You support us in developing and implementing new policies and procedures and coordinate upcoming IT projects.
You will ideally have the following qualifications and skills:
You have profound experience in IT administration and support or similar roles.
You already worked in an international and distributed environment and/or with non-profit or non-governmental organizations.
Good experience in troubleshooting Apple and some Windows hardware and software is part of your portfolio.
You have good knowledge of a variety of software solutions (e.g. Microsoft 365, Google, Box, Zoom, Trello, Slack, etc.) and are willing to learn and implement more.
You ideally already have first experience in managing smaller projects and coordination and distinguish yourself through analyzing skills and solution orientation.
You are friendly and firm in your communication and stand out for your patience.
You have an independent work style and at the same time enjoy working in a diverse team with a strong service orientation.
Our working language is English, therefore excellent English writing and verbal skills are necessary. German skills are welcome, but not required, other language skills are an asset.

Currently most of our staff is working from home due to covid-19 restrictions and we will continue offering flexible work arrangements in the future.
For the time being, we offer a contract limited to two years. There is a prospect of extension and we are interested in long-term cooperation.
We will pay your public transport ticket for Berlin and offer a company pension plan.

Terms: We are looking for a long-term collaboration. Currently we can offer a part time (50%) fixed term contract for 2 years, with the perspective of extension based on performance and funding.
