The Max Planck Insti­tute for the His­tory of Sci­ence (MPIWG) in Ber­lin is one of the more than 80 rese­arch insti­tu­tes admi­nis­te­red by the Max Planck Society in the sci­en­ces and huma­nities.

Max Planck Insti­tute for the His­tory of Sci­ence (MPIWG), Ber­lin, Depart­ment III is loo­king to employ two stu­dent assis­tants (up to 60 hours per month).

Star­ting date: Octo­ber 1st, 2017, or ear­lier, limi­ted until March 31st, 2018 with the pos­si­bi­lity of exten­sion.


Assis­ting pro­ject mem­bers with the orga­niza­t­ion of sci­en­ti­fic events, the main­ten­ance and updating of the depart­ment web­site and hel­ping to main­tain data­ba­ses and digi­tal repo­si­to­ries.

Er­war­te­te Qua­li­fi­ka­tio­nen:

Native Chi­nese spea­kers with a good com­mand of Ger­man and/or Eng­lish and native Eng­lish spea­kers with a good com­mand of Ger­man and/or Chi­nese are encou­ra­ged to apply. Ability to read clas­si­cal Chi­nese is con­side­red an advan­tage. App­li­cants must be in at least their third semes­ter of study at a uni­ver­sity in Ber­lin or Bran­den­burg. They should have a good working know­ledge of modern infor­ma­tion tech­no­logy and the ability to work both inde­pendently and in a team.

The salary is paid accord­ing to the rates for stu­dent employ­ment in the frame of the Max Planck Society’s pro­gram to sup­port junior sci­en­tists.
