Research Assistant - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen - 1st qualification period (PhD candidate)
under the reserve that funds are granted - part-time employment may be possible
Teaching support in lectures and exercises including supervision of the compilation of Bachelor and Master theses
Self dependent execution of numerical simulations of steady and unsteady flows in all types of thermal turbo machinery
Preparation and generation of appropriate computational grids for complex compressor and turbine geometries
Adequate analysis of the results and derivation of innovative concepts for improvements with respect to effectiveness and efficiency of turbine and compressor cascade flows, aerodynamic flow stability as well as interacting flows
Technical support and administration of the chair’s computer cluster in hardware and software
Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in a relevant discipline; above-average degree desired
Clear focus on flow mechanics as well as thermal turbo machinery
Profound knowledge of numerical modeling of internal flows, advantageously including fluid-structure-interaction
Experience with the application of commercial CFD tools on the compressible flow in compressors and turbines as well as in the use of CAD tools
Advantageous is knowledge about the aerodynamics of tandem stators in compressors
Proficiency in Linux environments
Experience in tutoring and teaching is beneficial
Good English language skills are desired
