  • Gen­er­a­tion of cDNA con­structs for pro­tein and caroten­oid pro­duc­tion in bac­teria by molecu­lar-bio­lo­gical meth­ods, site-dir­ec­ted muta­gen­esis, recom­bin­ant PCR
  • Caroten­oid and pro­tein pro­duc­tion in bac­teria, chro­ma­to­graphic puri­fic­a­tion and pro­tein ana­lyt­ics
  • Mass spec­tro­metry on caroten­oids and caroten­oid-bind­ing pro­teins
  • Iso­tope labeling of caroten­oids and caroten­oid-bind­ing pro­teins for spec­tro­scopic and struc­tural stud­ies
  • Chro­ma­to­graphic and spec­tro­scopic stud­ies on pro­tein-pro­tein inter­ac­tions
  • UV/Vis absorp­tion, CD and Fluor­es­cence life­time spec­tro­scopy
  • Small-angle X-ray and neut­ron scat­ter­ing exper­i­ments (SAXS, SANS), quasielastic neut­ron scat­ter­ing (QENS) for determ­in­a­tion of struc­ture and dynam­ics

  • Writ­ing/edit­ing of sci­entific manuscripts for pub­lic­a­tion, con­fer­ence and pro­ject reports


  • Suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom oder Äqui­val­ent) in Bio­phys­ics, Bio­chem­istry, Bio­lo­gical Chem­istry or Chem­istry
  • Exper­i­ence in molecu­lar bio­logy, pro­tein bio­chem­istry and chro­ma­to­graphic tech­niques (FPLC, HPLC, SEC, HIC)
  • Expert­ise in spec­tro­scopic tech­niques (UV-Vis absorp­tion spec­tro­scopy, fluor­es­cence spec­tro­scopy
  • Exper­i­ence with mass spec­tro­met­ric ana­lysis of pro­teins and bioor­ganic molecules (ESI-MS, LC-MS), basic skills in NMR struc­ture determ­in­a­tion of Pro­teins
  • the abil­ity to work in a team and to cooper­ate
  • flu­ent Eng­lish (oral and writ­ten), and fun­da­mental know­ledge of Rus­sian lan­guage are advant­age­ous
