Tech­ni­sche Uni­ver­si­tät Dres­den - Faculty of Arts, Huma­nities and Social Sci­ence, Insti­tute of History

Die TU Dres­den ist eine der elf Exzel­len­z­u­ni­ver­sitä­ten Deut­sch­lands. Als Voll­u­ni­ver­sität mit brei­tem Fächer­spek­trum zählt sie zu den for­schungs­s­tärks­ten Hoch­schu­len. Chair (W3) of History of Tech­no­logy and Eco­nomy

At the Faculty of Arts, Huma­nities and Social Sci­ence in the Insti­tute of History the Chair (W3) of History of Tech­no­logy and Eco­nomy is to be fil­led on 01.10.2020.

Work­ing field:

The app­li­cant should rep­re­sent the field in rese­arch and tea­ching wit­hin the Faculty of Arts, Huma­nities and Social Sci­en­ces and is obli­ged to par­ti­ci­pate in the self-admi­nis­tra­tion of the uni­ver­sity. A dis­po­si­tion and abi­lity to con­duct clas­ses in Eng­lish is desi­ra­ble. The par­ti­ci­pa­tion in the Col­la­bo­ra­tive Rese­arch Centre (Son­der­for­schungs­be­reich) 1285 „Invec­tivity. Con­stel­la­ti­ons and Dyna­mics of Dis­pa­ra­ge­ment“, and the coope­ra­tion with part­ners of DRES­DEN-con­cept (e.g. Mili­tär­his­to­ri­sches Museum der Bun­des­wehr, Deut­sches Hygiene-Museum Dres­den, Staat­li­che Kunst­samm­lun­gen Dres­den) as well as with other part­ners in the field is expec­ted.

Require­ments:

Can­di­da­tes are expec­ted to be inter­na­tio­nally estab­lished. Their fields of rese­arch should be indi­ca­tive of a wide range of inte­rests in dif­fe­rent his­to­ri­cal peri­ods. Expe­ri­ence in acqui­ring third party fun­ding is pre­sup­po­sed. A focus on cur­rent theo­ries and issues of history, cul­ture, lan­guage, and/or social sci­en­ces is highly desi­red, as well as the wil­ling­ness for inter­di­sci­pli­nary coope­ra­tion, also with disci­pli­nes from the tech­ni­cal and natu­ral sci­en­ces. App­li­cants must ful­fil the employ­ment qua­li­fi­ca­tion requi­re­ments of § 58 of the Act on the Auto­nomy of Insti­tu­ti­ons of Hig­her Edu­ca­tion in the Free State of Sax­ony (SächsHSFG).
