The emphasis in teaching should be in the mediation of classical as well as experimental techniques in drawing, painting, sculptural design, performance and moving image. ‘Material’ as basis for spatial context should be reflected upon and made haptically perceptible. Artistic strategies and design techniques shall be taught in particular to students of architecture and urban planning; teaching duties shall be performed in all levels of the Bachelor's and Master's degree courses within the faculty in the form of project-based studies and specialized seminars.
Active third-party fund-raising and interdisciplinary cooperation in teaching and research within and outside the faculty are expected, as is experience in the implementation of artistic development projects and the active further development of one's own work with accompanying exhibitions and publications. Accepting responsibility to promote further qualifications of employees, cooperation in internal administrative duties and in the enhancement of the faculty profile is assumed. Supervision of "Kunst am Bau" projects on the campus of the BTU is desired.
Other duties result from the requirements set by § 42 Brandenburgisches Hochschulgesetz (Higher Education Act of the State of Brandenburg - BbgHG) in conjunction with § 3 BbgHG.
We are seeking an outstanding personality with an independent artistic work in the field of sculpture, who exhibits a focus on spatial practice, or an engagement with spatial perception.
Experience in the acquisition and realization of third-party funded projects is expected. Fields of research should be relevant for the DFG (German Research Foundation) or similar international research funding organisations.
