Working field:

The Senckenberg Society for Nature Research (SGN), a member institution of the Leibniz Association, conducts integrative natural history research with almost 800 employees in leading research institutes in seven federal states. The Senckenberg Museum of Natural History Görlitz (SMNG) has research departments in the fields of soil zoology, zoology and botany and maintains a public museum exhibition. Senckenberg and TU Dresden cooperate closely in both research on and teaching of these topics.

Together with the section heads, you are responsible for the development of the research profile, the collections and academic teaching activities of the department. Your research should address community ecology and functional biodiversity of soil animals, including modelling of associated data, within the context of the "Anthropocene Biodiver-sity Loss”. You will actively promote the international soil zoological data warehouse “Edaphobase” and its application in change-scenario development. We expect you to initiate and manage international research projects in cooperation with the section heads of the department, with other units within Senckenberg, as well as with national and international research institutes, supported by substantial acquirement of third-party funds and high-level publications.
