Cli­mate Ana­ly­tics is a non-pro­fit cli­mate sci­ence and policy insti­tute, estab­lished in 2008. We are based in Ber­lin (Ger­many) with offices in New York (USA), Lomé (Togo) and Perth (Aus­tra­lia) with staff and asso­cia­tes across Europe, South Ame­rica, Aus­tra­lia, Africa and Asia. The insti­tute’s mis­sion is to syn­the­sise and advance sci­en­ti­fic know­ledge in the area of cli­mate change and on this basis pro­vide sup­port and capa­city buil­ding to sta­ke­hol­ders.
Cli­mate Ana­ly­tics is a team of sci­en­tists and policy ana­lysts with long expe­ri­ence in the inter­na­tio­nal cli­mate change debate. The team is backed by its own and co-deve­lo­ped sci­ence-based models to assess and syn­the­sise cli­mate sci­ence. By lin­king sci­en­ti­fic and policy ana­ly­sis, we pro­vide state-of-the-art solu­ti­ons to glo­bal and natio­nal cli­mate change policy chal­len­ges. Through its uni­que posi­tion at the inter­face bet­ween sci­ence, policy and prac­tice, and with its excel­lent inter­na­tio­nal net­works, Cli­mate Ana­ly­tics pro­vi­des an exci­ting working envi­ron­ment with excep­tio­nal oppor­tu­nities for the pro­fes­sio­nal and per­so­nal deve­lop­ment of each employee.

IT Admin­is­tra­tion Officer (in part-time) (all genders)

Working field:

We are cur­rently seek­ing an IT Admin­is­tra­tion Officer (in part-time) (all genders) in part time (20 hours/week) for our inter­na­tional and diverse Team to ensure our IT Admin­is­tra­tion as well as start pro­jects to improve our IT land­scape. If you’re inter­ested in help­ing us build­ing up a sus­tain­able IT infra­struc­ture with com­pli­ant policies and pro­ced­ures for an inter­na­tional non-profit in the field of Cli­mate Change, this is your job!

Your Respons­ib­il­it­ies

  • You will sup­port the global Cli­mate Ana­lyt­ics Team in all IT related ques­tions and tasks, together with our external IT ser­vice part­ner. This includes:
  • You take care of all IT related issues of all offices. You solve the issue on your own or coordin­ate with our external IT ser­vice part­ner and com­mu­nic­ate the solu­tion with the col­leagues via ticket sys­tem.
  • You set up and main­tain our office hard­ware, Apple and Win­dows note­books and mobile phones.
  • You set up and main­tain all soft­ware accounts for staff together with our Office Assist­ant.
  • The global account and license man­age­ment (Microsoft, Google, Box, Zoom, Trello, Slack, etc.) is in your hands.
  • You admin­is­trate our ERP soft­ware in col­lab­or­a­tion with our Fin­ance Officers and HR.
  • Com­mu­nic­a­tion is key! You act­ively com­mu­nic­ate with our man­age­ment team, the col­leagues and external pro­viders and coordin­ate, involve, explain and train them if neces­sary.
  • Together with our ser­vice pro­vider you ana­lyze our hard­ware and soft­ware land­scape and come up with ideas how to improve our exist­ing solu­tions and struc­tures and/or imple­ment new ones, so that they fit to our grow­ing and inter­na­tional envir­on­ment.
  • You sup­port us in devel­op­ing and imple­ment­ing new policies and pro­ced­ures and coordin­ate upcom­ing IT pro­jects.

Requirements:

Your Pro­file

  • You will ideally have the fol­low­ing qual­i­fic­a­tions and skills:
  • You have pro­found exper­i­ence in IT admin­is­tra­tion and sup­port or sim­ilar roles.
  • You already worked in an inter­na­tional and dis­trib­uted envir­on­ment and/or with non-profit or non-gov­ern­mental organ­iz­a­tions.
  • Good exper­i­ence in troubleshoot­ing Apple and some Win­dows hard­ware and soft­ware is part of your port­fo­lio.
  • You have good know­ledge of a vari­ety of soft­ware solu­tions (e.g. Microsoft 365, Google, Box, Zoom, Trello, Slack, etc.) and are will­ing to learn and imple­ment more.
  • You ideally already have first exper­i­ence in man­aging smal­ler pro­jects and coordin­a­tion and dis­tin­guish your­self through ana­lyz­ing skills and solu­tion ori­ent­a­tion.
  • You are friendly and firm in your com­mu­nic­a­tion and stand out for your patience.
  • You have an inde­pend­ent work style and at the same time enjoy work­ing in a diverse team with a strong ser­vice ori­ent­a­tion.
  • Our work­ing lan­guage is Eng­lish, there­fore excel­lent Eng­lish writ­ing and verbal skills are neces­sary. Ger­man skills are wel­come, but not required, other lan­guage skills are an asset.

  • For the time being, we offer a con­tract lim­ited to two years. There is a pro­spect of exten­sion and we are inter­ested in long-term cooper­a­tion.
  • We will pay your pub­lic trans­port ticket for Ber­lin and offer a com­pany pen­sion plan.
