IMA­GI­NARY gGmbH - Sci­ence Com­mu­nic­a­tion

IMA­GI­NARY is an orga­ni­sa­tion for open and col­la­bo­ra­tive com­mu­ni­ca­tion of modern mathe­ma­tics. It ori­gi­na­ted in 2007 at the Mathe­ma­ti­sches For­schungs­in­sti­tut Ober­wolfach, a Leib­niz Insti­tute. IMA­GI­NARY won several awards and has the aim to com­mu­ni­cate mathe­ma­tics to a broad public in an aes­t­he­tic, inter­ac­tive and col­la­bo­ra­tive way. Since 2008, IMA­GI­NARY exhi­bi­ti­ons have been shown in more than 150 cities, in 50 coun­tries and in 26 lan­gua­ges and they attrac­ted several mil­lion visi­tors.

Work­ing Stu­dent Sci­ence Com­mu­nic­a­tion (m/w)

Work­ing field:

Espe­cially for our upcom­ing events but also for other sci­ence com­mu­nic­a­tion and mar­ket­ing tasks we are look­ing for a motiv­ated and open-minded stu­dent, who sup­ports us in

  • Event man­age­ment includ­ing pro­mo­tion, mar­ket­ing and other PR activ­it­ies (social media, web­site etc.)
  • Organ­ising and struc­tur­ing our internal know­ledge data­bases
  • Answer­ing emails regard­ing exhib­i­tion con­tent and exhib­its
  • Com­munity man­age­ment of exhib­i­tion part­ners from around the globe
  • Pro­ject and office man­age­ment
  • Pro­gram­ming skills a plus but no pre­requis­ite

Require­ments:

  • Stu­dent at a Ber­lin uni­versity
  • Interest and/or exper­i­ence in sci­ence com­mu­nic­a­tion, research mar­ket­ing and pro­ject man­age­ment
  • Affil­i­ation with or strong interest in math­em­at­ics or com­puter sci­ence
  • Good team player
  • Excel­lent Eng­lish skills in writ­ing and speak­ing, good Ger­man skills (any other lan­guage is most wel­come)
  • Friendly and pre­cise in speech and writ­ing
  • Able to work inde­pend­ently and take a struc­tured approach
