Work­ing field:

The­or­et­ical descrip­tion of scat­ter­ing curves from small-angle neut­ron scat­ter­ing (SANS) of com­plex col­loidal and poly­meric sys­tems by dif­fer­ent sim­u­la­tion tech­niques (Monte Carlo, molecu­lar dynam­ics with expli­cit water, coarse-grained sim­u­la­tions) and stat­ist­ical mech­an­ics meth­ods. Based on struc­tures in real space their scat­ter­ing prop­er­ties shall be cal­cu­lated and com­pared to exper­i­mental res­ults. This work will be done in cooper­a­tion with the chair „The­or­et­ical Bio- and Soft Mat­ter Phys­ics“ of the FU Ber­lin and the Insti­tut Laue-Langevin (ILL), Gren­oble, France.


Suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) and doc­tor­ate in the field of phys­ics or chem­istry (or a related field). Com­pre­hens­ive expert­ise is required in the field of sim­u­la­tions of col­loidal and poly­mer sys­tems, as well as high com­pet­ence in Stat­ist­ical Mech­an­ics. Know­ledge on the mod­el­ling of neut­ron and x-ray scat­ter­ing data is desir­able. Good com­mand of Eng­lish is desired.
